Another Meta Overreach: Bűnvadászok (Crimefighters) Facebook Page Deleted

László Toroczkai, president of Mi Hazánk Mozgalom (Our Homeland Movement), announced in an X post that Meta has once again seriously interfered in the elections by deleting the Facebook page of Bűnvadászok, which had around 167,000 followers.

Toroczkai emphasized that, just as during the 2019 European Parliament elections and the 2022 parliamentary elections, the Silicon Valley giant is making its move in the final stage of the campaign.

“One month before the decisive April 12 parliamentary elections, Meta has begun restricting and deleting pages belonging to Mi Hazánk on Facebook,” the party president wrote.

He added that on Wednesday, Meta suspended the Bűnvadászok Facebook page, making it inaccessible to the public.

“The Silicon Valley giant did all this without providing any real explanation, citing only the vague category of ‘dangerous individuals and organizations,’ while the Bűnvadászok had deliberately not published on Facebook any of the individuals or organizations listed in that category,” 

- said the politician, expressing his outrage.

He stated that the party will take legal action against Meta because of this new act of brutal censorship, adding:

“We already know that Zuckerberg’s team does not even comply with final court rulings, because they consider themselves above the law.”

Toroczkai concluded his post with the announcement that Mi Hazánk will challenge the election results because of Meta’s continued interference in the elections.

He also added that his party will continue its fight against what it calls Meta’s dictatorship and censorship in every domestic and international forum.
