László Toroczkai asks Viktor Orbán and Péter Magyar to condemn Meta’s interference in Hungary’s elections

The extremely popular Bűnvadászok (Crimefighters) page created by László Toroczkai has been banned from Facebook, prompting the president of Mi Hazánk Mozgalom (Our Homeland Movement) to make an unusual request to Viktor Orbán and Péter Magyar.
“I call on Viktor Orbán and Péter Magyar to condemn, on their own Facebook pages, Meta’s repeated interference in the elections in Hungary!” Toroczkai wrote, then emphasized that, by condemning the deletion of the Bűnvadászok Facebook page with 167,000 followers, they should stand up for free elections, freedom of speech, and freedom of expression.
He explained that Bűnvadászok pursue criminals without regard to skin color, gender, religion, or any other criterion, and likewise help fellow Hungarians in trouble without discrimination. They carry out their task in the service of society, observing the laws and cooperating with the police.
“Have criminals at Meta already come to belong to the ‘protected category’? If Viktor Orbán and Péter Magyar do not condemn the Silicon Valley giant’s latest serious interference, they make it clear that they are not interested in holding clean, free elections. In that case there is no point in protesting because of alleged or real Ukrainian or Russian interference, since they would be signaling that Meta’s obviously more effective and barely concealed interference does not bother them,” said the president of Mi Hazánk.
“I await their response on their own Facebook pages!” the national opposition leader concluded his post.
